What is an Ear Candle?

An ear candle is a hollow, conical tube made with 100% unbleached muslin, paraffin wax, bees wax and herbally scented essential oil. It has a tapered end that is formed to fit the ear.

Where did the Ear Candle technique originate?

Ear Candling is a technique that has been around for centuries, passed down through many generations of Egyptians, Asians, Europeans and South American culture. It is experiencing a revival today.

What is the process for Ear Candling?

The process first involves preparing the ear with oil to loosen the wax. Then, heat and smoke from the Ear Candle is combined with massage to the sinuses and eustachian tubes before final cleansing with hydrogen peroxide.

Aside from helping to remove ear wax build-up, it is also thought that since the ears are so delicate, the movement of the smoke and the heat from the candle can cause subtle energy changes. These, in turn, may offer relief from pressure or energy blockage.

Response from thoudands of users indicate that candling is very effective. There are frequent reports of relief from ear wax build-up, hearing problems, ringing in the ears (Tinnitus), sinus issues,, headaches, and even infections.

When and how often should the procedure be done?

Ear Candling is done when a person is experiencing ear aches, fluid in the ear, excessive wax build-up, sinus congestion, headaches or dizziness. How often the procedure is done is an individual decision. It takes about twenty-four hours for the ears to replace their protective coating of wax after it has been removed.

Are there any medical considerations?

Ear Candling should not be used if you have hearing aids, tubes in the ear or a puncture of the ear drum.
